It is estimated that women create 775,000 new startups each year. 84.8% of all women-owned businesses begin as sole proprietorships, yet women-owned businesses account for 28% of all businesses in the US. Yet on a global scale our success dims in comparison. Of the 70% of people living in extreme poverty, 2/3 are women & children. 80 million school age children do not go to school and 100 million people in the world are illiterate. On both counts, 2/3 are women. This is in addition to facing other social issues. Isn't it time for you not only to be counted amongst the ranks of successful women, but also amongst those believing in giving back by creating opportunities for others?
A Place for You
As mentioned, Her Startup sets aside a portion of all proceeds for donation to outside organizations and for in-house projects and grants. Offering some services in a group setting allows us to better meet the needs of more challenged clients. If you have a sincere desire to start your own business and the main obstacle faced is financial, do not count yourself out. A limited number of spaces are reserved specifically for this purpose. Email us to request an application. Only those chosen to participate will be notified. Candidates will follow the same interview procedure, but in addition, may also be asked to submit proof of income or a statement regarding circumstances. Each situation will be judged on its own merit and at Her Startups' sole discretion. We trust only those having a sincere need will complete the form. Please do not steal another woman's chance to better her life.
